What began as a 4-H project many years ago, has weathered the test of time and has grown into a small flock of select shropshires ewes. My goal has always been to maintain sheep that are productive and sound, with emphasis on structure and comformation.
I continue to strive to bring my flock to the top of the show rings that I attend on a local, state and regional level

Lacko Farms is a third generation family farm in the Schoharie Valley, of New York state. It bagan in the 1940's when my grandfather purchased a small farm near Middleburgh, NY and started growing corn. Along with my father they ran a large hog program in the 60's and later expanded the crops to nearly 200 acres of corn. In the more recent years the corn facility has grown with the assergance of bio-fuel and corn as heating fuel. (For corn availability call 518-827-4433)
Shrophire sheep have been a tradition in our family, with my father's first 4-H flock being shropshires. He only owned sheep for a few years, and it was not until the 70 's that I got my first commercial lamb, bringing sheep back to the farm with this lamb becaming the base of my 4-H flock for many years. My interest in shropshires came after college when my husband and I were running our dairy farm and I felt it was the right opportunity to rebuild my show flock; shropshires caught my eye.
We now have the shrops and some Romneys grazing on the same pasture that 50 years ago housed dad's sheep, and I am proud to continue this tradition for my neices and nephews. Showing, raising and selling good sheep has become a passion of mine. This passion has been passed to me by my family and I am proud to share it with you.
Thank You for visiting my flock page.
